Borders and Neighborhoods
The borders of District 1 are McKnight Road on the East, Minnehaha on the North, the Mississippi River on the south and southwest up to Warner Road,
then along Birmingham to Minnehaha Avenue.
Eastview is in the northwest corner of the district and
includes Harding High School, Sheridan Elementary School,
and St. Pascal's School.
Conway is in the northeast corner of the district and is the home
of our neighborhood public library and Eastern Heights School. Together,
these two neighborhoods are sometimes referred to as the SunRay neighborhood,
after the SunRay shopping center. They are north of Interstate 94.
Battle Creek is immediately south of Interstate 94 and extends
to Lower Afton Road. It includes Battle Creek Middle School,
Battle Creek Environmental Magnet School (Elementary). Highwood Hills
extends south from Lower Afton Road and is home to Highwood
Hills Elementary School and Boys Totem Town, as well as the
Totem Town Community Garden. Both the Battle Creek and Highwood Hills
neighborhoods overlook and include the Mississippi River and Pigs Eye Lake.
